This "Five Inch Square Ruler" is exactly 5 inches by 5 inches square - perfect for rotary-cutting your own "5 inch Pre-cut Squares" or charm squares from your own fabric! (Or squaring up 4 or 5 inch pieced blocks).
Colours pictured, from left, are Yellow, Pale Blue, Orange, Fluro Green, Pale Blue. (Also available in Fluro Pink and Clear).
There are "sew" many patterns and books dedicated to quilts made from "Charm Squares" (or other 5 inch Pre-Cuts, some of which are known as "Bali Snaps"). Now, you can make them at home, with fabric from your own stash. One yard of 40 inch fabric will yield 56 squares. This is also a great way to maximise the use of smaller pieces of scrap fabric.
Hand-made to order from 1/8th inch (3mm) thick Acrylic (Plexiglas) - this is the same as commercial quilting rulers, and considered the safest thickness for using with rotary cutters.
Laser-cut for accuracy, hand-sanded and polished, these rulers are attractive, durable, and easy to use.
Full lines are marked at one-inch intervals, and shorter lines mark the 1/4 inch and 1/8th inch measurements. Diagonal lines mark 30, 45 and 60 degrees. Because the lines and numbers are "etched" by the laser-cutter, they don't fade or scratch off like printed lines.
This product was created on request from a member of Quilt Club Australia, who found it difficult to find a quilting ruler that was this exact size.
There is a choice of transparent colours, and we can even personalise the ruler by etching your first name or initials! Included is a laser-cut 4mm diameter hanging-hole.
