This 2-piece set of 1/8th inch Acrylic Templates are laser-cut for accuracy and designed to match Lucy Boston's "Patchwork of the Crosses" hand-pieced traditional quilt pattern (also known as "POTC").
Set of 2 includes 1 x 90 degree Hexagon (Honeycomb) + 1 Square, with a finished edge of 1.5 inches. Templates include the 1/4 inch seam-line added, 90 degree angles, blunted corners, etched sewing line, pin-holes at seam intersections (1/16th inch or 1.5mm diameter, to fit mechanical pencil), and registration marks half-way along seam-llines.
The strong, durable 1/8th inch Acrylic is the same as that used in commercial rulers, and can be safely used with a Rotary Cutter (either a 45m blade, 25mm or even 18mm blade). Or else you can use the traditional method of drawing around the pieces and then cutting out with scissors.
These precise templates will ensure you obtain accurate, identically-sized shapes - every time!
The pinholes at the seam intersections are useful for marking the start / stop points for hand-piecing, and are sized at 1/16th inch diameter (ie, 1.5mm), to fit a mechanical or propeller pencil.
Blunted corners reduce the bulk of fabric at seam intersections.
Translucent Acrylic makes it easy to fussy-cut your material and you can produce imaginative, tile-like visual effects, depending on how you place the template on the fabric.
