Makes a "12 inch finished" block. - Above photos show the 9 in version - new photos to come.
This vintage-looking block is #3499 in Barbara Brackman's Encyclopaedia of over 4000 quilt blocks - attributed to the Kansas City Star 1938, where it is called Air Ship Propeller. Various designers have used this traditional block and the distinctive shapes in their patterns, including Mary Mashuta.
These templates match YOUR copy of this pattern, and help you to cut multiple pieces of fabric more quickly and accurately, using a rotary cutter. Finished block size is 12 inches.
(Please note: the actual pattern is NOT included in this listing).
This 5-piece custom-made 1/8th inch thick (3mm) Acrylic Template Set (we use Cast Acrylic Sheet or Plexiglas). includes a 1/4 inch cutting line added to the pattern, for use with a rotary-cutter. The seam-line is etched 1/4 inch in from the cutting line, with pin-holes cut at each seam intersections (1/16th inch or 1.5mm diameter pin-hole, for use with a mechanical or clutch or propeller pencil). The pattern name and piece letter is also engraved on each piece.
The templates are precision cut with our Laser-Cutter, and hand-polished. They can be personalised (at no extra charge) by adding your name or initials (please advise in comments).
There is a choice of 4 transparent colours, at no extra charge: "Fluro Pink, Fluro Green, Pale Blue and Clear".
