12 & 1/2 inch finished block.
This set of 4 x Acrylic Template shapes (Rectangle, Square, Triangle, Elongated Hexagon) join together to make a 12.5 inch finished block for the X-Plus Quilt (also known as the "Spool" block, by Nancy Cabot, circa 1937).
The acrylic is laser-cut for accuracy, and etched with 1/4 inch seamlines, with laser-cut pin-holes at seam intersections (1.5mm of 1/16th inch diameter, to fit a mechanical pencil - to enable accurate hand or machine piecing).
Strong and durable, these templates allow for effortless, accurate rotary-cutting of up to 8 layers of fabric (depending on the sharpness of your blade!). The blunted corners mean less build-up of seams in corners.
I've designed these templates based upon Nancy Cabot's original pattern - only these make a 12.5 inch finished block. Suitable for experienced or beginner quilters alike, the extra half-inch gives some "wriggle room" to trim each block back to 12 inches - which is a terrific size to convert to nearly any type of quilt. (ie: 2 blocks back-to-back make a cushion cover, 9 blocks makes a cot quilt, 4 x 4 blocks makes a lap quilt... etc.)
Available in 4 translucent (see-through) colours.
