This Giant Clam Shell Acrylic Ruler is perfect for rotary-cutting 12 inch finished clamshells, for either machine piecing or hand piecing.
Hand-made to order from 1/8th inch (3mm) thick Acrylic (Plexiglas) - this is the same material used in commercial acrylic quilting rulers, and is considered the safest thickness for using with rotary cutters.
Laser-cut for accuracy, hand-sanded and polished, this ruler is attractive, durable, and easy to use. This shape is versatile, and also helps you draw or cut circles, half-circles, Drunkard's Path or Orange Peel shapes.
Includes laser-cut pin-holes (2.2mm to fit HB pencil or Frixion pen), which are drilled at regular intervals along the curves, to help you mark and line up the seams.
Diagonal lines divide the top half-circle into 8 segments, including 45 degrees. Because the lines and numbers are "etched" by the laser-cutter, they don't fade or scratch off, like printed lines do.
There is a choice of transparent colours, when available, and we can personalise the ruler by etching your first name or initials! (Please put this request in your comments to seller). Net weight of template is about 200 grams.
